i know those words. after watching a tumor for 5 years, in june a doctor told us that our 17 year old’s tumor had grown. and yes, we were in shock too.
my daughter’s was in the insular region. SHE through her “tumor connections” reached out to dr. mitchel berger at the university of san francisco hospital. he specializes in this, and in the insular region. she had surgery september 4 and came out GREAT!! no impact at all to speech, motor, memory. she’s been back at school for 6 weeks now. pretty amazing.
she had the awake brain mapping (which IS a little freaky………..) but came out of it with flying colors. this doctor and facility are fantastic if you decide to go that route.
